Simply because it's Spring!

I love the springtime. We were married in the spring, Annie was born in the spring, daffodils (my favorite flower) make their appearance in the spring. There are so many good things about spring. Here's what we've been up to . . .

Matching dresses!! It's the funnest part of having two matching girls. Grandma Cathy made these beautiful dresses for my girls for Christmas and Zoe is finally long enough for hers to fit. We rocked those dresses on Easter Sunday. If you can't tell - there are 8 different fabrics, ruffles, rouching and a big bow in the back. They are the best grandma dresses EVER!

My baby turned five months on Easter Sunday. She is still small for her age, but she is doing so much. We can't keep her on her belly for very long because she just flips over onto her back, she's "talking" to us all the time and she giggles when she finds something funny (yesterday, it was when her sister kept saying "pee pee diaper.") She loves looking at all the toys in her little gym and she swats at the birds. She drools a lot and she may be teething. She's strong and fiesty and she is still eating well and sleeping very nicely. She looks so much like her sister and she gets compared to her a lot.

She also spent some time this month with a nebulizer.  I went into the doctor after a rough, snotty weekend thinking that the doctor was just going to tell me that she had a snotty nose and not to worry. Instead she told me that she had very soupy lungs and she needed to be on a breathing treatment schedule unless I wanted an infant with pneumonia. So we cried our way through the breathing treatments and her lungs cleared up and she did fine. I'm so grateful for modern medicine.

Little miss Annie had a good month, too! The entire second grade did a "Tea at the White House" where they read books about famous Americans and then dressed up like them and presented themselves to all the parents. Here is Annie as one of the 14 Amelia Earhart's (one who was right next to her). My favorite part about her costume is that she had motor oil on her coat (it was a thrift store find and disposable). She read in her book that Amelia didn't just fly planes, she fixed them, too, and she was often teased for having grease on her clothes. What else could we do but put motor oil on her costume? It looked fantastic for about 15 minutes and then it just soaked through - but she smelled the part! She did great!

These last two pictures are of Annie fishing at the outdoor expo we attended. You can't hardly tell, but she caught two little bluegills. The helper told us that bluegills were chosen for this little fishing adventure because they could be caught multiple times and that they were "sturdy." Annie loved it enough that we're thinking about getting urban fishing licenses and going out to some of the lakes and ponds around here where they stock fish.
