Last night we did something we never thought we'd be able to do, we went swimming in our pool - in October!! It has been the most amazing weather. The morning starts beautifully, 70 degrees, clear skies and a slight breeze. It can warm up to 90 degrees at noon, but it's only for an hour or so and then it cools down to a beautiful, clear, breezy night.
So something got into us and we decided to go swimming. It might be our last trip in the pool this year, (Annie's teeth were chattering and her lips were a little purple) - but we were in the pool for about an hour. The water was about 71 degrees - enough that it didn't take long to warm up after the initial shock.
We love having a pool - and we figure if we can swim in October - we can probably start swimming again in March or April.
And this, my friends, is why so many people have pools in Arizona!
